Permit(s) Applied for:

Article 24 Freshwater Wetlands

Project is Located:

Geneva, Ontario County

Project Description:

The applicant is proposing to relocate two existing NYSEG electric transmission lines outside of the potential "fall zone" of two wind turbines located at the applicant's manufacturing facility within the Geneva Industrial Park. Approximately 1,360 feet of existing double circuit (34.4kV) overhead electric transmission line will be buried along the railroad within the NYS regulated wetland (GV-5) adjacent area. Additionally, approximately 1,743 feet of existing single circuit (115kV) line will be relocated primarily east of the railroad tracks crossing back over the railroad just north of the safety fall zone. As a result of the line relocation the applicant is proposing permanent impacts to approximately 142 square feet of wetland and approximately 2.02 acres of wetland vegetative community type conversion. The Department will be requiring compensatory wetland for the proposed wetland impacts. A stormwater pollution prevention plan has been prepared for the proposed project and operation of equipment within the wetland will be done on timber mats.
