Essex and Franklin Counties - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Treatment of Phragmites Australis in the Giant Mountain Wilderness, High Peaks Wilderness, Saranac Wild Forest, Taylor Pond Wild Forest, Debar Mountain Wild Forest and Cranberry Lake Wild Forest will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the herbicide applications to control Phragmites australis from the affected Forest Preserve units. The action is to take place on approximately 13 sites ranging in size from .01 to .76 acres totaling approximately 2.5 acres in Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence counties. It is possible additional sites will be added as necessary within the five year time frame for this project. Controlling Phragmites australis will help to eliminate this invasive plant before it spreads further within the Forest Preserve threatening native species and creating a monotypic plant community in the impacted area. The project is located in the Giant Mountain Wilderness, High Peaks Wilderness, Saranac Wild Forest, Taylor Pond Wild Forest, Debar Mountain Wild Forest and Cranberry Lake Wild Forest in Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence Counties, New York.

Warren County - The Warren County Board of Supervisors, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Lease of Lands for State University of New York (SUNY) Adirondack's Student Housing and Construction of a Dormitory will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the lease of lands to Adirondack Housing Association, LLC for construction of a 4 story building to house 400 students who will be attending SUNY Adirondack. Housing will be for the existing student body and will not be a one time increase in new enrollment. This will be a new housing option for students attending college and will result in some lowering in volume of commuter traffic and slight changes in water, needs and wastewater discharges. The project is located at 640 Bay Road in the Town of Queensbury, New York.
