Negative Declaration

Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Suffolk County Sewer Capacity Study Port Jefferson, Riverhead/Calverton, Patchogue and Sag Harbor will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the identification of the costs of sewer expansion for each of the aforementioned study areas consistent with the needs of each community to provide economic benefits, development and affordable housing, while preserving water quality. The project is located in Calverton, Patchogue, Port Jefferson, Riverhead and Sag Harbor, New York.

Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - Suffolk County, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Suffolk County Sewer Capacity Study for Bellport, Sayville, Ronkonkoma Hub, Middle Island Corridor, Mastic/Shirley, Yaphank and Southampton may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves the evaluation of sewage infrastructure needs, costs and benefits associated with the construction of sanitary sewage collection and treatment systems for seven currently unsewered areas of Suffolk County. The project is located in Bellport, Sayville, Ronkonkoma Hub, Middle Island Corridor, Mastic/Shirley, Yaphank and Southampton, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Final GEIS

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Generic Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Meadows at Yaphank Planned Development District (PDD). The Final GEIS is available from the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall, Longwood Public Library and on line at: www.brookhaven.org.

The action involves a proposed change of zone on 322.37 acres of an overall 333.46 acre combined project site. The application also includes an 11 ± acre site occupied by the existing Dorade Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), which is currently in operation and serving projects in the area including Suffolk County Sewer District (SCSD #8) and the Whispering Pines/Colonial Woods condominiums. A change of zone is not needed or requested for the STP parcel.

The Meadows at Yaphank PDD will consist of retail, mixed-use commercial, office/flex spaces, and housing. The commercial component includes approximately 1,032,500 square feet of space made up of hotel, retail, restaurant and office/flex uses. The residential component includes 850 units of various types and sizes, including 303 age-restricted units and 85 workforce units.

The project is located at the northwestern corner of the interchange of William Floyd Parkway and the Long Island Expressway (LIE) in Yaphank, New York.
