Project Description:

The Town of Harrison proposes the direct treatment of approximately 7 acres of NYS Freshwater Wetland J-3 (Class II) with the aquatic pesticide AquaPro (active ingredient glyphosate) to control the growth of the invasive Phragmites australis. Areas of high Phragmites density will be treated through the use of a vehicle mounted spray system. Phragmites which is located in areas containing predominantly native vegetation will be treated in a targeted manner through the use of backpack sprayers and, if necessary, wicking equipment.
