The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has added a link to a translation service developed by Microsoft Inc., entitled Bing Translator, as a convenience to visitors to the DEC website who speak languages other than English.

Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has determined that site ID # 828014, known as the High Acres Landfill site, may be deleted from the New York State Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites. This site is located in the Village of Fairport, within the County of Monroe, and is located at 425 Perinton Parkway. Comments regarding this action must be submitted no later than September 2, 2011. Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS

Steuben County - The Steuben County Industrial Development Agency, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Expansion of the Howard Wind Power Project. The Final EIS is available at the Steuben County Industrial Development Agency, 7234 Route 54, Bath, NY; the Town of Howard Town Hall, 3725 Mills Road, Avoca, NY and on line at: http://www.howardwind.com/.

The action involves a two wind turbine expansion of the Howard Wind Power Project, approximately 2,285 feet of extended access roads and 1,910 feet of extended buried 34.5 KV electrical interconnect. The two turbine expansion will use 2.05 MW REpower MM92 turbines. The project is located on a 39 acre parcel south of Spencer Hill Raod and east of South Woods Road in the Town of Howard, New York.
