Permit(s) Applied for:

Article 17 Titles 7 & 8 P/C/I SPDES- Groundwater Discharge

Project is Located:

Clarence, Erie County

Project Description:

The Department has drafted a SPDES permit and made a tentative determination to approve this application for the discharge from an on-site wastewater treatment system to groundwater (Outfall 001) for the existing manufactured housing development. The permit would authorize the discharge of up to 57,500 gpd of sanitary wastewater after treatment by a septic tank/sand filter system serving 246 units. The draft permit eliminates Outfall 002 which was proposed for a 5,000 gallon per day (gpd) septic tank/sand filter treatment system, but was never constructed. The property is located on the south side of Main Street opposite Kraus Road. The Department is seeking comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought.
