Project Description:
The project sponsor proposes a 5 acre life-of-mine consolidated surface bluestone mine of which 1.53 acres will be affected during the intial permit term. Mining method will consist of drilling and blasting, mechanical equipment (fork lift and loader), bulldozer/backhoe, and stone saws. The project is located on Readburn Road, 3.0 miles from the intersection of Chase Brook Road and State Route 10 in the Town of Tompkins, Delaware County.

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Project Description:
Placement of rock rip-rap in select locations along the existing Hudson River shoreline to stabilize exposed tree roots and protect an existing sanitary sewer main. Up to 120 linear feet of shoreline will be authorized for limited rock rip-rap placement. Extension of an existing gabion basket wall approximately 50 feet to provide further protection of the lawn area of the applicant's residence. Repair of existing gabion basket wall where needed to protect the applicant's residence. Placement of several 10-feet wide pre-cast concrete slabs to configure a boat launch area for launching of the applicant's sail boat. The slabs will be placed on the river bottom from the shoreline out to a point to achieve a 1 foot depth at mean low tide. No grading or dredging will take place to configure the boat launch area.
