Negative Declaration

Albany County - The City of Albany Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Morton's Walk on Alexander will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of ten single family, infill row homes on eight currently vacant parcels totaling approximately 3.1 acres in the South End neighborhood of Albany. The currently existing eight parcels will be re-subdivided into a total of ten lots, the subdivision of which is the subject of this application. The new lots will vary from 19 to 25 feet in width. The project is being titled "Morton's Walk on Alexander." The proposed single-family row homes will occupy the site of previous dwellings ranging from single-family dwellings to apartments houses, most of which were long abandoned and recently demolished. The proposed homes will be 2 units at approximatley 1,216 square feet in size and 8 units at approximately 1,344 square feet in size, and will contain between two and four bedrooms. While the homes are intended to comprise a "row," each home will have its own design and architectural variations, consistent with the character of the South End neighborhood. The project is located at 37-51 Alexander Street in the City of Albany, New York.
