Project Description:
The department has made a tentative determination to issue a SPDES permit for the discharge of 8,500 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste to the groundwater located at north east corner of Montauk Highway and Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, New York. The proposed discharge is located with an area designated as a sole source aquifer. The following public water purveyors have been identified as having service areas located within a three mile radius of the applicant's facility: 1) Suffolk County Water Authority. SPDES NY 0279501

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Colony Preserve Planned Development District. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 2, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Brookhaven Town Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until August 15, 2011. The Draft EIS is available from the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall, the Longwood Public Library and on line at: www.brookhaven.org.

The action involves a change of zone for a 205.64 acre parcel from A Residential 1 to Planned Development District in order to construct 150 two bedroom age restricted Planned Retirement Community (PRC) residences and 75 detached single family homes (three-bedrooms) on clustered lots. The project is located on the east side of William Floyd Parkway approximately 280 feet south of Appel Drive in Shirley, Town of Brookhaven, New York.
