Project Description:

The Village of Cherry Creek proposes to take a supply of water for use in the existing system by the installation of one new well (Well No. 3) having a capacity of 80 gallons per minute to replace an existing well and spring sources whose capacities have diminished. The water system serves a population of approximately 500 through 205 residential connections and 37 commercial connections within the Village limits in addition to 13 service connections in the Town of Cherry Creek. The approved taking is based on the 20 year projected maximum daily demand of 94,500 gallons per day. The project also includes replacing the existing storage reservoir with a 250,000 gallon steel storage tank, as well as replacing approximately 30,500 linear feet of water main.

Filed application documents, and Department draft permits where applicable, are available for inspection during normal business hours at the address of the contact person. To ensure timely service at the time of inspection, it is recommended that an appointment be made with the contact person.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

Project is a Type I action and will not have a significant effect on the environment. A coordinated review with other agencies was performed and a Negative Declaration is on file.

SEQR Lead Agency: Cherry Creek Village Board

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than Jul 07, 2011.
