Project Description:

National Grid proposes to apply glyphosate, a glyphosate/water mix, and a glyphosate/surfactant mix for cut stump treatment, selective foliar spray, and hydraulic low-volume treatments to state freshwater wetlands which are along their transmission rights of way.

Project is an Unlisted Action and will not have a significant impact on the environment. A Negative Declaration is on file. A coordinated review was performed.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

The NYS DOT has applied for the renewal of a General Permit for: bank and channel stabilization activities; minor earth fill for rehabilitation or replacement of existing facilities; installation or repair of utility lines; rehabilitation or in-kind and in-place replacement of existing facilities; and survey and exploratory activities for highway related construction activities.

State Environmental Quality Review:

Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.
