Project Description:

The Town of Riga has created the Riga Water Improvement Area No. 1, Contract 4, which is within the retail service area of the Monroe County Water Authority. The town proposed to serve residences along Chili Ave. Ext., Attridge Road, and Robertson Road. The project includes the installation of 17,300 Linear Feet of 8-10 inch water main and appurtenances. The project involves boring under Black Creek which is a trout spawning creek, boring and crossing several class C streams including Onion Creek, and trenching within the 100-foot adjacent area of regulated wetlands RG-3 at Robertson Road. Appropriate sedimentation and erosion controls will be employed to avoid contravention of water quality standards. The Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. The file is available for review at NYSDEC Region 8.
