Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has determined that site ID #754012, known as the Tioga Castings Facilities site, may have its boundary modified and partially delisted from the New York State Registry of Inactive Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites. This site is located in the City of Owego, within the County of Tioga, and is located on Foundry Street. Comments regarding this action must be submitted no later than July 15, 2011. Negative Declaration

Chenango County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Drilling Permit Application for - Norse Energy Corporation USA, Franklin, D. 1H Natural Gas Well will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the drilling of a natural gas well located within Chenango County Agricultural District 001. Drilling operations will be conducted in accordance with the drilling permit issued and rules and regulations of NYS DEC. The total area proposed to be disturbed during the initial construction phase for the well site and access road is 116,265 square feet or approximately 2.67 acres. After the well has been drilled, it will be put into production or plugged and abandoned. The well pad and access road areas for a producing well will be reduced to 35,412 square feet or approximately 0.81 acres and the remaining disturbed areas reclaimed. If the well is plugged and abandoned, the site will be reclaimed. The project is located approximately 4,000 feet south of County Route 19 and 2,300 feet west of Balf Road in the Town of Preston, New York.
