Project Description:
The applicant proposes to remove fill that was placed in a floodplain adjacent to West Brook within the Village of Walton. The resultant floodplain will mitigate damage caused by major floods, decrease the amount of water that flows through the School Bus garage during floods, store some water during flood events. Approximately 15,904 cubic yards of material will be removed along approximately 525 feet of streambank, rip rap will be removed near the bridge and placed at the back of the floodplain to create a better entrance to the bridge. The project is located approximately .14 miles west of the intersection of State Route 10/206 and Liberty Street.

A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
