Project Description:

The Village of Valley Stream proposes water quality improvements to the Valley Stream at Mill Pond Park, Hendrickson Pond Park and Village Green Park through the reduction of erosion potential and associated sediment losses into downstream areas. Improvements include sediment collection basins, debris traps, forebays, bank restoration/stabilization, dredging, removal of invasive species, and plantings.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a retaining wall and install a fence on top of the wall. The property landward of the wall is proposed to be cleared and regraded by placing 1,500 cu. yds. of clean fill. A 4" RCA base is proposed to be installed over the filled area. The buffer area between the wall and the wetland is proposed to be planted with native wetland species. The purpose of the proposed project is to provide storage for motor vehicles and to restore the wetland buffer area. The proposed project is located within the 100 foot adjacent area of a NYSDEC regulated freshwater wetland at 229 and 237 Albany Avenue and 1010 Sunrise Highway in Amityville, Town of Babylon in Suffolk County, SCTM# 0100-169-03-26, 27 & 31.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to operate a Used Cooking Oil Processing Facility within a 1,000 square foot area inside an existing building on an existing industrial site. Operations consist of straining out particulate matter, and then removing water from the oil to establish the finished product which is then shipped off site. The design capacity is approximately 2,000,000 gallons per year of product throughput. The proposed site is located at 168 Town Line Rd., south of Old Northport Rd., in the Town of Smithtown, New York.
