Notice of Acceptance of Final EIS
Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Final Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Stony Brook Post Office Expansion. The action involves the construction of an 11,361 square foot addition of the Stony Brook Post Office, the construction of an approximately 9,000 square foot educational and cultural center, and expansion of parking, lighting, and drainage infrastructure associated with these uses. The expansion involves the clearing of oak-tulip forest, and the excavation of approximately 60,000 cubic yards of material from slopes on the site. This action has been completed. The Positive Declaration and Environmental Impact Statement are being completed after the action has been completed as a result of a court order. The project is located on Shopping Center Road, Stony Brook, New York.
