Project Description:

The applicant proposes to construct a new production well at the Development Drive well field. The new well is proposed to be constructed 510' deep with a pumping capacity of 1,388 GPM. Fifty-one of the 79 wells that currently make up the Port Jefferson - Farmingville High water supply system were put into service over 30 years ago, and the proposed increase in well capacity will help to insure an adequate supply of water for both residential demand and fire protection in the service area. The proposed project is located on an easement at SUNY Stony Brook, approximately 1,170 feet west of Stony Brook Road, Stony Brook, Town of Brookhaven, SCTM# 200-273-01-03. WSA# 14496

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Comments on this project must be submitted in writing to the Contact Person no later than May 12, 2011.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install one (1) 8" diameter replacement well, rated at 250 GPM, to a depth of 65'. The purpose of the well is to supplement the irrigation system of the golf course area. The proposed well site is located at the Maidstone Club, 50 Old Beach Lane, Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County.
