Oswego County - The Town of Scriba Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Novelis Corporation Project will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a 190,000 square foot addition to be adjoined to the north wall of the existing plant, relocation of a small metallurgical laboratory and modifications to existing plant roadways. The building will be designed in accordance with current building codes and will use materials of construction consistent with existing facilities. The project will be constructed in a single phase and will include the installation of new aluminum production equipment and support facilities. The project is located at 448 County Route 1A in the Town of Scriba, New York.

Contact: Kevin C. Caraccioli, Caraccioli & Nelson, PLLC, Town of Scriba, 120 East First Street, Suite 300 Oswego, NY 13126, Phone: (315) 343-1939.

Tompkins County - The City of Ithaca Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Seneca Way Apartments will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the construction of a 5 story mixed-use building with 63,400 total gross square feet and a 14 space basement level parking area on the 0.78 acre site. The building proposal included 9,311 square foot of first floor commercial space and a mix of 32 one bedroom and 6 two bedroom apartments on the 2nd through 5th floors.

Site development includes two surface parking lots with a total of 41 spaces, landscaping, and a paved entry plaza. The applicant proposes to consolidate the nearly continuous existing curb cut into two curb cuts, one accessing the east surface parking lot, and the other accessing the western surface lot and basement level parking, and to install a sidewalk and curb lawn along the length of the property. Site development requires the demolition and removal of the existing building (former Challenge Industries). The project is in the B-4 Zoning District and is contiguous to the East Hill Historic District. The project requires a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan and variances for height, parking, and loading.

The project is located at 140 Seneca Way in the City of Ithaca, New York.
