Notice of Public Scoping

Carroll Landfill Expansion

The proposed action is a 35 acre expansion of the 3 acre Carroll Construction and Demolition Landfill, and to also include Construction and Demolition recycling and yard waste composting to the operation. Existing waste will be removed and placed inside the 38 acre landfill footprint. An approximate additional 8.5 acres will be developed with ancillary and support facilities to include a scale house, office building, access roadways, leachate storage facility, maintenance building, and stormwater management basins and structures. The design capacity will be 1,000 tons per day, with a site life of approximately 14.5 years. The porject is located southwest of Dodge Road and north of Sandberg Road in the Town of Carroll, New York.

A Public Scoping will be held on February 23, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the Frewsburg High School Auditorium, 26 Institute Street, Frewsburg, NY 14738.
