Project Description:

The applicant proposes to demolish an existing dwelling, abandon an existing septic system, construct a new dwelling with deck and patio, install a new septic system, replace an asphalt drive with gravel and install plantings within the adjacent area of a NYS regulated Freshwater Wetland (#BW-8). The dwelling is proposed within 56 feet of the freshwater wetland at this site and the deck is proposed within 42 feet of the freshwater wetland. Since the project is located within 82 feet of Fire Island Inlet, a Tidal Wetlands permit is also being applied for. The project is located at 27 Sandy Drive, Oak Beach, Town of Babylon, SCTM# 0100-243-1-163.

Applicant proposes to apply the aquatic herbicide Sonar One to all of the 39 acres of Donahue Pond to control invasive Fanwort.
