Project Description:

The Department has received an application for the discharge of treated sanitary waste water from two septic tank/sand filter systems at the applicant's facility located at 6,8,10, & 12 North Main Street in the Village of Delevan. The applicant proposes to continue an existing total discharge of approximately 2,105 gallons per day of treated sanitary waste water to Elton Creek, a class C waterbody from the two systems. The Department has made a tentative determination to approve this application. As a tentative determination, the Department is seeking public comment on the application prior to making a final decision on permit issuance. As such, this tentative determination does not signify Department approval for or endorsement of the activity for which a permit is sought. A draft permit is available for review.

The Department has prepared a draft SPDES permit (#NY-0103934) and made a tentative determination to approve a renewal application for the discharge of up to 1,750 gallons per day of sanitary wastewater from a septic tank/sand filter treatment system to the Little Brokenstraw Creek in the Village of Panama. The site is located west of Route 76, approximately 700 feet south of Wiltsie Road.

The Department has drafted a SPDES permit and made a tentative determination to approve this application for two existing treated wastewater discharges from Clarence CSD Bus Garage located at 9825 County Road in the Town of Clarence. One discharge is up to 200 gallons per day of sanitary wastewater after treatment by a septic tank/absorption field system to groundwater. The second discharge is up to 150 gallons per day from an oil/water separator treatment system to a tributary of Beeman Creek, a class C waterbody. The facilities served are an office and a bus garage with repair and storage bays. The Department is seeking public comment prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.

The applicant proposes to install approximately 300 linear feet of rock riprap streambank stabilization and 3 rock vanes along Cattaraugus Creek, immediately adjacent to and downstream of the Hurdville Road bridge. This action will correct the current bank sloughing and will protect a private residence that is located immediately landward of the proposed project site.
