The applicant proposes to dredge a total of approximately 3,800 cubic yards of accumulated sediment from two locations in the Genesee River adjacent to two US Coast Guard facilities. The sites are located at and near the mouth of the Genesee River in the City of Rochester off St. Paul Blvd. and River St. As proposed, the sediments would be mechanically dredged and transported to the US Corps of Engineers open-lake disposal site located in Lake Ontario.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install shoreline stabilization measures on approximately 210 linear feet of the shore of Blind Sodus Bay. The project site is located at the northeast end of Metzger Lane. As proposed approximately 160 linear feet of new rip-rap would be installed, along with a 50 foot long concrete block retaining wall. Most rip-rap will be installed among or below existing shoreline vegetation. Selective tree removal will be needed to install the block retaining wall.
