Project Description:

Vintage Vista is a 28-lot residential subdivision on a 10.5 acre site on County Route 44 in the Town of Monroe. Although the subdivision is located outside of the area currently served by the Village of Kiryas Joel water supply system, the Town of Monroe, as applicant and in cooperation with the Village of Kiryas Joel, proposes to connect Vintage Vista to the Village's municipal water supply system. Approximately 44,800 gallons per day (gpd) of potable water will be supplied by the Village water supply system to the new development from existing sources. In support of the proposal, the Town of Monroe established Water District No. 13 to serve Vintage Vista on October 28, 2009.

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

The project sponsor proposes to remove approximately 140 cubic yards of stone and gravel from the southernmost tip of Lake Sagamore [Index# H-31-P 44-23-P 76j, Class B] which washed in during a recent storm event from the adjacent unpaved Old Forge Drive. The excavated material will be trucked off-site.
