Public Notice

Draft Request for Proposals (RFP) Solid Waste Facility Management Services for Town of Colonie, New York

Pursuant to New York State General Municipal Law, Section 120-w, the Town of Colonie, New York (Albany County, New York), hereby gives notice of the following:

The Town of Colonie, New York desires to procure an agreement with a firm for solid waste facility management·services·at its landfill (known as the Colonie Landfill),which is located in the Town. A Request for Proposals (the Draft RFP) has been drafted for this purpose. Any parties who would like to comment regarding the Draft RFP should deliver such comments to the below-referenced address by 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2011.

Negative Declaration

Delaware County - The Town Board of Kortright, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Spring Water and Wellhead Protection Plan will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a Spring Water and Wellhead Protection Plan. This Plan seeks to protect the springs and wellheads to insure the Town of Kortright and the Hamlet of Bloomville have safe and adequate drinking water for its residents. The Plan outlines its primary objectives as:

1. Protect the Town of Kortright's and Hamlet of Bloomville's drinking water resources.
2. Evaluate the needs for protection of the Town's and Hamlet's drinking water and supply.
3. Determine suitable protection techniques for spring and well source waters.
4. Identify specific land use tools that can be used to protect source waters.
5. Create a foundation for future funding.

The project is located throughout the Town of Kortright, New York.
