Joint Notice of Extension of Public Comment Period

Public Notice and Public Comment: A notice of public hearing was published on June 23, 2010 in NYS DEC's Environmental Notice Bulletin, the City Record, and in local newspapers located within the New York City Watershed. The notice provided for written comments to be submitted by the public by July 30, 2010. In July 2010, the public comment period was extended to September 15, 2010. That time period is now being extended to October 22, 2010. All other public comments procedures remain the same. Public hearings were held at 6:00 p.m. at the following locations and dates: (1) Monday, July 12, 2010 at SUNY Delhi, Evenden Tower, Room 104, 2 Main Street, Delhi, NY 13753; (2) Tuesday, July 13, 6:00 p.m. at Hunter Elementary School, 7794 Main Street, Hunter, NY 12442; (3) Wednesday, July 14, 6:00 p.m. at Tri Valley High School, 34 Moore Hill Road, Grahamsville, NY 12740.

Written Comments: All comments must be filed with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation - Division of Environmental Permits, Region 4 Stamford Sub Office, 65561 State Highway 10, Stamford, NY 12167, Attention: Martha A. New York State Department of Environmental Cosnervation Implements Quarantine to Prevent Spread of Emerald Ash Borer

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) is establishing a quarantine district comprising Ulster and Greene Counties in order to limit the potential introduction of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) to other areas of the state.

NYS DEC's quarantine order will prohibit the intrastate movement of EAB, and the movement of ash nursery stock, ash trees, and ash wood products, and firewood, wood chips and bark mulch from any tree species, beyond the quarantine district without certification or compliance agreements from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, or the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the United States Department of Agriculture (APHIS), in addition to other provisions as defined in the order.

Negative Declaration

Dutchess County - The Town of Red Hook Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed CSX - Classical American Homes Preservation Trust Subdivision will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a proposal to subdivide a 1.787 ± acre parcel from a 79.9 ± acre parcel in the Hamlet (H) Zoning District. The proposed new lot will be preserved as open space or may be used as an unpaved parking area. The project is located on Dock Road in the Town of Red Hook, New York.
