Project is Located:

Montgomery, Orange County

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (NY0145718), pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18, and 750-1.19, the Priority Ranking System known as New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS).

The Maybrook Travel Center stores and distributes fuel oil. All stormwater that runs off the site or is captured in containment areas around the fuel tanks is treated by an oil/water separator prior to discharge to a tributary to Beaverdam Brook, a class D water. The following changes to the permit are proposed: - A limit for settleable solids was added for outfall 001. - Limits for parameters were added to outfall 001A, designated to the discharge of hydrostatic test water. Monitoring requirement for copper has been eliminated based on results of sampling. This modification also initiates a facility name change from Travel Centers of America to Maybrook Travel Center.
