Project Description:

The applicant proposes to conduct hydraulic maintenance dredging to a depth of 8 feet below mean low water the previously dredged marina basin and a new proposed 40 foot by 180 foot area to the south of the southern slips in order to widen the channel to provide access for deep draft sailboats. The resultant approximate 7,500 cyds of dredged material will be placed and dewatered within two deposition areas located on the upland portion of the marina. The north side of the marina basin will be expanded by excavating a 25 foot by 165 foot area landward of the existing bulkhead to a depth of 8 feet below mean low water, removing the bulkhead, and installing a new bulkhead around the excavated area. Expand the east side of the marina basin by excavating a 30 foot by 40 foot area and 35 foot by 40 foot area landward of the existing bulkhead to a depth of 8 feet below mean low water, removing the bulkhead, and installing a new bulkhead around the excavated area. Approximately 3,900 cyds of resultant excavated material from expansion will be trucked off site. Remove, replace, relocate, and install piers, ramps, floating docks and pilings of various sizes with the marina proper. The project is located at Gardiner's Marina, Three Mile Harbor HC Road, Town of East Hampton, SCTM 300-93-1-8.

Project Description:

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve a State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit for an existing discharge of 100 gallons/day of treated lawn maintenance equipment rinse wastewater to groundwater from an oil/water separator treatment system. This tentative determination indicates that the discharge regulated under this statute is considered to satisfactory regulatory standards for permit issuance, based on information available to the department at this time. The proposed discharge is located within an area designated as a sole source aquifer. The following water purveyor has been identified as having service areas located within a 3 mile radius of the applicants facility: Suffolk County Water Authority.
