Project Description:
The applicant proposes to mine sand and gravel from 33.24 acres of land out of 240.8 acres owned at this location. Material processing includes the use of a screen, crusher, and a closed-loop wash plant. The life of mine is expected to be approximatley 17 years. The site will be reclaimed to agricultural land with stable side slopes. The mining location is located east of Pigeon Hill Road (CR 73) and north of Elton-Farmersville Road, in the Town of Freedom.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:
The applicant proposes to remove an existing stockpile of approximately 6,000 cubic yards of topsoil from the property. The topsoil will be processed on-site with a small portable dry-screen. The land use prior to the removal of topsoil was agricultural (corn) and the reclamation objective is a perennial hay field for animal food. The existing haul road is located on Murphy Road approximately 0.3 miles south of the Hatter Road intersection and approximately 1.2 miles north of Route 104.
