Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit NY-0021351, pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18, and 750-1.19, the Priority Ranking System known as New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS).
The Old Forge wastewater treatment plant was constructed in 1982. The facility is an extended activated sludge plant designed to treat 0.45 million gallons per day (MGD). The facility has treated surface discharge to Middle Branch of Moose River, a Class C water.

Monitoring collection for phosphorus has been added. Sample frequency for Temperature, pH, and Settleable Solids are seven days per week. Sample collection for 5-Day Biochemical Oxygen Demand and Total Suspended Solids are twice per month. Discharge Notification requirements have been updated. Monitoring page with flow diagram has been revised. The mercury program for dental facilities has been added. Permit pages have been updated to reflect current DEC format and nomenclature. The permittee name and addresses have been updated.
