ENB - Region 8 Notices 08/25/2010
Wayne County - The Town of Marion, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Town of Marion Extension No. 2 to Water District No. 1 will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. In 2008, the Town of Marion issued a Negative Declaration for the extension of public water service to the Northwest Quadrant Water District Phase IV. Since that time, the project name has been changed to "Extension No. 2 to Water District No. 1," and additional watermain has been proposed along two short road segments (Sherwood Road and Parker Road Spur) included within the water district (i.e. the original boundaries of the water district did not change.) The amended description of the proposed action is provided below.
The proposed project provides for the extension of public water service to Extension No. 2 to Water District No. 1. The project will serve a total of 49 equivalent dwelling units. Approximately 21,000 linear feet of watermain will be installed. In addition to the watermain, the project includes hydrants, valves, road crossings, excavation and bedding materials, watermain connections, residential hook-ups, and surface restoration. Residents in this area are dependent upon individual groundwater supplies that historically have produced very low yields of poor quality water.
The project is located along portions of Goosen Road, Maple Road, Huntley Road, Sherwood Road, Parker Road and Parker Road Spur, Town of Marion, New York.
