Positive Declaration

Suffolk County - The Village of Port Jefferson, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Water's Edge Apartment Complex and General Offices may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a proposal by the applicant, Islander Boat Center, to construct a 3 story, 52 unit apartment complex, general office and parking facilities on a 1.84 acre site. The project will involve the construction of a building with gross floor area of 63,089 square feet including a first floor office and open parking garage (35,620 square feet), second floor residential space (29,466 square feet) and third floor residential space (29,466 square feet). The project is located at 217 West Broadway in the Village of Port Jefferson, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Breslin Realty (a.k.a. Artist Lake Plaza) Change of Zone. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 17, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until August 27, 2010. Copies of the Draft EIS are available at the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall , the Longwood Public Library and online at: www.brookhaven.org. The action involves a change of zone of 32.89 acres of a 74.24 acre site, from A-Residence-1 zoning to J-Business-2 zoning. The proposed project involves the removal of the vacant K-Mart structure and development of two large anchor stores (314,330 square feet) and seven smaller retail buildings (65,081 square feet). The project provides parking and amenities to support the retail use, proposes sidewalks and an open-air public walking and gathering areas. Pedestrian linkages to new sidewalks to be installed along the site's frontage on NYS Route 25 are proposed, for pedestrian and aesthetic enhancement, and to provide public access to future improvements along Artist Lake. The project is located at 1075 Middle Country Road in Middle Island, Town of Brookhaven, New York.
