Positive Declaration and Public Scoping

Suffolk County - The Town of Brookhaven Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Meadows at Yaphank Planned Development District may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. Written comments on the draft scope will be accepted until September 12, 2010 (ten (10) days after the public scoping session). A public scoping session will be held on September 2, 2010, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Town of Brookhaven Town Hall, One Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738. A Draft Generic Scoping Document will be prepared and forwarded to all Involved and Interested Agencies and posted on the Town of Brookhaven website http://www.Brookhaven.org. The proposed project would change the zoning of 322.37 acres from L Industrial 1 and J Business 2 to Planned Development District (PDD) for development of a mixed-use project that includes retail, office space, office/flex industrial space and housing. "Flex space" is defined for purposes of the proposed project as non-residential commercial space that may be office or industrial in nature or other uses permitted in the J Business 2 or L Industrial 1 districts. The commercial components of the proposed project include approximately 1,032,500 square feet of space made up of hotel, retail, restaurant and office/flex or other permitted uses within the J Business 2 and L Industrial 1 districts. The proposed residential component is comprised of 850 units of various types and sizes, including 303 age-restricted units and 85 work force housing units. The project is located at the north west corner of the Long Island Expressway North Service Road and William Floyd Parkway (County Route 46) in Yaphank.

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Special Permit of New York SMSA, LP, Wading River may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a proposal to consruct a 100 foot concealment pole with nine wireless communication panel antenennas and related ground equipment within a leased 6.29 acre parcel zoned Residence B-80 and improved with a Roman Catholic Church. The project is located at the northeast corner of North Country Road (County Route 25) and Remsen Road in the Hamlet of Wading River, Town of Riverhead, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Riverhead Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Special Permit of T-Mobile Northeast LLC, Wading River may have a significant adverse impact on the environment and a Draft Environmental Impact Statement must be prepared. The action involves a proposal to remove a 70 foot electric transmission line utility pole and construct a 90 foot monopole as a replacement and to place eight wireless communication panel antennas on four tee arms atop the new structure. Related ground equipment will be placed within a 12 foot x 23 foot fenced compound on a 1.25 acre parcel zoned Residence B-80 and improved with the aforementioned transmission lines. The project is located on the east side of Dogwood Drive approximately 450 feet north of State Route 25A in the Hamlet of Wading River, Town of Riverhead, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Southampton Town Planning Board, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Planned Residential Development Subdivision for Vintage Vines. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 26, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southampton Town Hall, Town Board Meeting Room, 116 Hampton Rd., Southampton, N.Y. 11968. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until September 25, 2010. A hard copy of the Draft EIS is available at the Southampton Town Clerk's Office, 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY 11968. The online version of the Draft EIS is available at the following publically accessible web site: www.town.southampton.ny.gov. The action involves a residential subdivision of 37 lots on a 48.669 acre parcel of land. The project is located at 634 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike (County Route 79) in the Hamlet of Bridgehampton, Town of Southampton, New York.
