Negative Declaration
Suffolk County - The Village of Port Jefferson Planning Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed 230 East Main Street - Change of Use will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves a change of use from a permitted use, retail, to permitted use, personal service/beauty salon on one-half of the first floor of a two story attached building. The site is also located within an archeosensitive area as per the NYS Office of Historic Preservation and Recreation. The proposed action will not increase parking demands. Currently, the adjacent Village parking lot is used to address parking needs and the use of this lot is proposed to continue. The building's interior will be amended by the addition of 2 sinks. The proposed action does not involve any changes to the building's exterior or ground disturbance. The project is located at 230 East Main Street in the Historic District of the Village of Port Jefferson, New York.
