Project Description:

The applicant proposes to restore a riparian buffer along 1050 feet of the Schoharie Creek south of the State Route 23 and State Route 23A intersection in the Town of Prattsville, Greene County. The project includes the removal of approximately 200 feet of buried debris, re-grading of the stream bank and the installation of willow stakes and fascines. Additional areas upstream and downstream will be planted with saplings in order to establish a 1050 foot long, 100 foot wide riparian buffer.

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (NY0191955), pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18, and 750-1.19, the Priority Ranking System known as New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS). This modification also includes a transfer assigning legal responsibility for SPDES NY0191955 from Frank Algier to Country Acres Estates LLC.

Country Acres Mobile Home Park has a design flow of 22,000 gpd. Treatment consists of activated sludge, clarification, Filtration, and Chlorination/Dechlorination. The facility discharges treated surface water to Suntauissia Creek, a class A(T) water. The following changes to the permit are proposed: Permit pages and conditions have been updated to reflect current permit language, DEC guidance, format and nomenclature. Daily maximum flow monitoring has been added. Year round five day Carbonaceous Biochemical Oxygen Demand limits have been added for both monthly and 7 day average. All limits have been calculated to the nearest two significant digits. Total phosphorus Daily Maximum Monitoring has been added for monitoring. Total Chlorine Residual limit has been changed. Discharge Notification Requirements have been modified.
