Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Suffolk County - The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Patchogue, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Clare Rose Multi-Family Residential Development. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on July 15, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall of the Incorporated Village of Patchogue, 14 Baker Street, Patchogue, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until July 26, 2010. The Draft EIS is available for public review at the office of the contact person listed below, at the Patchogue-Medford Library, 54-60 East Main Street, Patchogue, NY 11772 and online on the Village of Patchogue's website at: www.patchoguevillage.org.

The action involves an application by RAM Associates, LLC to the Incorporated Village of Patchogue to construct a multi-family residential community (Clare Rose) with up to 214 units on a 12.15 ± acre site. The proposed action includes applications for a change of zone from the D5 Business District to the D2 Business District for one parcel and a Special Permit for the proposed multi-family use for all parcels situated within the E Industrial District and D2 Business District. The proposed action specifically includes the construction of up to 214 multi-family units, with associated parking areas, walkways, and landscaping. In addition, a portion of the planned Riverwalk along the Patchogue River (which permits public access along the river) would be constructed, and portions of Clare Rose Boulevard, South Street, and Railroad Avenue would be improved. The project is generally bounded by South Street to the north, Railroad Avenue to the east, Sephton Street to the south, and the Patchogue River to the west in the Incorporated Village of Patchogue, New York.

Suffolk County - The Town of Babylon Zonning Board of Appeals, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed DMJ Realty Associates LLC. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on August 12, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Babylon Town Hall, 200 East Sunrise Highway, North Lindenhurst, New York. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted until August 23, 2010. A copy of the Draft EIS may be obtained online at: www.townofbabylon.com and from the contact person listed below.

The action involves the maintaining of an asphalt plant on an 8.3 acre site by requesting a Special Exemption Permit from the Town of Babylon Zoning Board of Appeals. The facility includes office buildings, site improvements associated with the asphalt plant which include a height variance from 55 feet to 79.083 feet for existing silos, and miscellaneous setback variances all in connection with an existing asphalt plant in an industrial zone. The project is located at 1610 New Highway in East Farmingdale, Town of Babylon, New York.
