Project Description:

The Department has prepared a draft permit (NY-0023507) and made a tentative determination to approve the applicant's proposed modification authorizing a greater discharge (increase from 0.372 to 0.658 mgd) of treated sanitary wastewater to Slippery Rock Creek (Class C waters) from the Village of Brocton Plant which will be upgraded and expanded. Improvements include removal of the failing Rotating Biological Contactors (RBC's) and the construction of a Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR) treatment system to produce the required effluent standards. All work will be completed within the existing Wastewater Treatment Facility. A copy of the Draft Permit is available for inspection at the NYSDEC Regional Office.

Project Description:

Industrial Support Inc. (ISI) is a contract manufacturing company that provides metal fabrication, metal stamping, welding/brazing and contract electronic assembly services. ISI currently operates three combined spray and glue (adhesive) application booths and an Infratrol oven to service customers. The booths are primarily dedicated to the manual application and curing of a Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) based glue to a synthetic substrate. To avoid the requirements of 6 NYCRR part 212.10 for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) controls and Title V permitting the facility will maintain a cap of 45 tons per year (TPY) for VOC's. Tracking of VOC content of adhesives and paints monthly will insure compliance with the 12 month rolling average of 45 TPY.

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has prepared a Department Initiated Modification to State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit No. NY0028436 for the East Aurora Wastewater Treatment Plant, pursuant to 6 NYCRR Part 750-1.18 and 750-1.19, the Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy. The proposed changes to the permit are: the inclusion of short term monitoring at outfall 001 for Phenol, Zinc, Mercury, Bromodichloro-methane and Chloromethane and a change in seasonal (summer) effluents limits for ammonia from 2.45 to 2.88 milligrams per liter. The East Aurora Wastewater Treatment Plant has an existing design flow of 3.14 mgd of treated wastewater to the East Branch Cazenovia Creek.
