Project Description:

The Department has received a request for a new permit to operate air pollution sources and has drafted, pursuant to Article 19 (Air Pollution Control) of the Environmental Conservation Law, a State Facility Permit for the facility to be located at, Bergeron by Design, Village of Dolgeville in Herkimer County, New York. The exact location will be at 15 South Second Street. This facility is engaged in the manufacture of foam-cushioned physical therapy seats and other positioning/exercise items. The main source of air emissions originates from the blowing of various types of polyurethane foam as well as the usage of solvents and adhesives. The Standard Industrial Classification representative of this facility is 3086 (Plastic Foam Products). This permit is a Natural Minor and no control devices have been required.

The draft permit with all conditions is available for review in the Region 6 NYSDEC sub-office in Utica, NY.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to treat approximately 45 acres of state regulated freshwater wetland with the herbicide Accord Concentrate to eliminate trees interfering with target site acquisition at Range 48 on the military reservation. Accord Concentrate is a New York State approved herbicide that is effective on target species, and through extensive testing has shown minimal impact to birds, mammals, fish and invertebrates. The herbicide's active ingredient half-life is 45 days in soil and less than 8 days in natural water conditions.
