Project Description:
The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) is pursuing a Department Initiated Modification (DIM) to the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) Permit (NY-003 0597, DEC #7-0822-00002-00001) the Town of Greene, Chenango County, Village of Bainbridge Wastewater Treatment Plant facility pursuant to 6NYCRR Part 750-1.18, New York State's Environmental Benefit Permit Strategy (EBPS). The changes to the permit are as follows: The permit now requires the permittee to monitor for TKN, Ammonia, and Nitrates. These parameters are necessary for the calculation of the Total Nitrogen.
Additional information including the current permit, and supporting documentation may be obtained from or inspected at the DEC's Cortland Office. Substantive comments on the permit or requests for a hearing or both must be submitted in writing to the contact person. DEC seeks comments on the proposed regulated activity prior to making a final decision on permit issuance.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.
