Project Title: Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless

Location: West Mountain Road in the Town of Queensbury, New York

Project Description: The project involves the construction of a 120 foot tall telecommunications tower on a 100 foot x 100 foot leased parcel. The tower will have a 12 panel array attached to it, centered at 116 feet on the tower and a 5 foot lightning rod on the top of the tower for an overall height of 125 feet. A 12 foot x 30 foot equipment building will be located at the base of the tower within a 23 foot x 50 foot fenced compound. The cables connecting the tower to the equipment building will be protected by an ice-bridge. Access to the tower location will be by a proposed 12 foot wide, 1,450 ± foot long gravel driveway that will extend westerly from West Mountain Road to the tower location. The tower will be about 1,060 feet from the road. The lease agreement includes a tree protection zone that extends 200 feet from the tower

Notice of Acceptance of Draft SEIS and Public Hearing

Franklin County - The Adirondack Park Agency, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Map Amendment 2010-01. A public hearing on the Draft SEIS and the proposed amendment will be held on May 27, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the Tupper Lake Town Hall, 120 Demara Boulevard, Tupper Lake, New York. Written comments on the Draft SEIS will be accepted until June 11, 2010. The Draft SEIS is available for public review at the Adirondack Park Agency headquarters, 1133 NYS Route 86, Ray Brook, NY and on line at: www.apa.state.ny.us.

The action involves the proposed amendment to the Official Adirondack Park Land Use and Development Plan Map (MA2010-01) in the Town of Tupper Lake. The proposed map amendment was requested by the Raquette River Boat Club, LLC. The proposed map amendment would reclassify approximately 2.5 acres of land from Resource Management to Hamlet. The proposed map amendment area is located east of NYS Route 30 and south of Raquett River Drive, south of the Hamlet of Tupper Lake, New York.
