Essex County - The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Intersection Improvement, Route 9 at Route 911U (George Avenue) and Saratoga County Route 80 (Maltaville Road), A.K.A. 'Round Lake Gateway' will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the improvement of an intersection by realigning the existing 'Y' intersection to create a conventional right-angle 'T' intersection. The existing traffic signal would be replaced in a new location slightly to the south. The George Avenue approach to the intersection would be reconstructed. The Maltaville Road leg of the intersection would be eliminated by dead-ending prior to the intersection of Route 9. Affected wetlands will be enhanced and pedestrian access to Round Lake improved. The project is located at US Route 9 at NYS Route 911U (George Avenue) and Saratoga County Route 80 (Maltaville Road) in the Village of Round Lake, New York.
