Project Description:
The Department intends to re-issue the Town's State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit that expired due to an oversight in the permit renewal process. The permit is for an existing discharge of 0.5 million gallons per day of treated sanitary wastewater to the Little Au Sable River, a Class C waterbody, from the existing secondary treatment plant located at 24 Sunrise Way in the Town of Peru, Clinton County. Refer to the DEC application number listed above and SPDES number NY 0023949.

State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Determination:
Project is not subject to SEQR because it is a Type II action.
SEQR Lead Agency: None Designated
State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:
The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.
Coastal Management:
This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Project Description:
Proposed improvements to the Village of Granville water system, including four new groundwater production wells (taking up to 525 gallons per minute) to replace existing wells, a new treatment facility, and replacement of 4,600 feet of distribution main. Replacement of a water main across the Mettawee River will be accomplished by directional drilling. The purpose is to bring the water system into compliance with treatment requirements, upgrade system components, and improve water pressure. The Village well field is located between Park Street and the Mettawee River.
