Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from West Covina Royale, LP, for a site known as the Ash Road Properties (portion of Lowe's Home Center), site ID #C704032. This site is located in the Town of Vestal, within the County of Broome, and is located at 221 Sycamore Road. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than May 7, 2010. Negative Declaration

Broome County - The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Drilling Permit Application for Norse Energy Corp. Proposed Schuldt 1H Natural Gas Well will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the drilling of a natural gas well within Broome County Agricultural District #04. Drilling operations will be conducted in accordance with the drilling permit issued and rules and regulations of the NYS DEC. The total area proposed to be disturbed during the initial construction phase for the well site and access road is 110,000 square feet or approximately 2.53 acres. After the well has been drilled, it will be put into production or plugged and abandoned. The well pad and access road areas for a producing well will be reduced to 5,000 square feet or approximately 0.11 acres and the remaining disturbed areas reclaimed. If the well is plugged and abandoned, the site will be reclaimed. The project is located approximately 530 feet south of Merrit Road and 300 feet east of New York State Route 41 in the Town of Colesville, New York.
