Project Description:

The project sponsor proposes to remove debris (i.e. dead and downed trees) from the bed and banks of a 350 foot stretch of the Wassaic Creek [Index# Conn. 15-11, Class C(T)] located near Nelson Hill Road in Wassaic, NY. Trees will be cut well above the base leaving the stumps and roots undisturbed to prevent bank erosion. Heavy equipment will be operated from the Pawling Corporation parking lot and will not enter Wassaic Creek.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes the disturbance to wetland HP-31 (Class 1) and its regulated 100-foot adjacent area in connection with the replacement of a town sewer treatment plant. Disturbance to the wetland is limited to an approximately 16 square foot riprap pad for the new outfall pipe. Adjacent area disturbances include replacement of pipes, new monitoring manhole, replacement chlorine tank, rehabilitation of the existing sand filter, and portions of the new secondary equalization tank. This work is required under State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit NY 009 9295, modified August 18, 2009.

The project sponsor proposes to construct a 6,322.5 sq. ft. two-story addition to an extisting 1,930.3 sq. ft. single family residence at 586 South Mountain Road located on the south side of High Tor Mountain ridge and 750 feet east of the Hackensack River. Site improvements will also include an onsite sewage disposal system, expansion of the existing driveway, and 12' x 60' above ground pool. The project will result in 0.25 acres of permanent impacts to the 100 foot Adjacent Area of NYSDEC Wetland HS-7.
