Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Benson Construction and Development, LLC for a site known as 251 Homer Street Redevelopment, site ID #C905037. This site is located in the City of Olean, within the County of Cattaraugus, and is located at 251 Homer Street, Olean, NY 14760. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than April 1, 2010. Negative Declaration

Wyoming County - The Town of Warsaw Town Board, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Local Law Providing for the Right to Farm will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the adoption of a Local Law providing for the Right to Farm. The general purpose of this law is to maintain and preserve the rural traditions and character of the Town of Warsaw, to permit the continuation of agricultural practices, to protect the existence and operations of farms, to encourage the initiation and expansion of farms and agri-businesses and to promote new ways to resolve disputes concerning agricultural practices and farm operations. The project is located throughout the Town of Warsaw, New York.

Notice of Acceptance of Draft EIS and Public Hearing

Wyoming County - The Town of Orangeville, as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the proposed Stony Creek Wind Farm Project. A public hearing on the Draft EIS will be held on March 25, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building, 2780 Buffalo Road, Varysburg, NY. Written comments on the Draft EIS will be accepted by the Town Clerk at the address listed below until 12:00 noon on April 23, 2010. A hard copy of the Draft EIS is available at the following locations: the Stevens Memorial Community Library, 146 Main St., Attica, NY 14011 and the Warsaw Public Library, 130 North Main St. Warsaw, NY 14569. The online version of the Draft EIS is available at the following publically accessible web site: www.InvenergyLLC.com/contact.html. The action involves a proposal to construct a wind-powered generating facility consisting of up to 59 General Electric 1.5xle, or equivalent, wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a maximum height of nearly 400 feet, which includes an operation and maintenance (O&M) facility, a system of gravel access roads, a 34.5 KV electrical collection system of buried electrical cable from the 59 WTG(s) to a substation, and one 262 foot permanent meteorological tower. The project is located in the Town of Warsaw, New York.
