Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install one (1) 16" diameter replacement well, rated at 800 GPM, to a depth of 130'. The purpose of the well is for irrigation of the golf course area. The proposed well site is located 1300' south of Front St and 400' west of Sunset Drive, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County.

The proposed activity is not subject to review in accordance with SHPA. The permit type is exempt or the activity is being reviewed in accordance with federal historic preservation regulations.

Project Description:

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has made a tentative determination to modify and renew Chemical Pollution Control's (CPC) Part 373 permit to operate a hazardous waste storage facility. The facility will be demolished and rebuilt in a different configuration due to zoning and code restrictions imposed by the Town of Islip and Suffolk County. The facility has been authorized to operate according to previous DEC permits and no new waste is proposed to be accepted at the reconfigured facility. Interim operating procedures and corrective actions are proposed as part of the new modified permit. The facility is located at 120 South Fourth Street, Bay Shore, Town of Islip, Suffolk county. The application, supporting documentation, fact sheet and draft permit are available for review at the DEC's regional office in Stony Brook. Interested person may submit comments or a hearing request on the draft permit no later than April 4, 2010.
