Public Notice

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC) has received a Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) application from Norampac Industries, Inc. for a site known as the Former Mill No. 2, site ID #C932150. This site is located in the City of Niagara Falls, within the County of Niagara, and is located at 4001 Packard Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14303. Comments regarding this application must be submitted no later than March 19, 2010. Negative Declaration

Cattaraugus County - The Town Board of the Town of Allegany, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wind Energy Overlay Zone will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the amendment of the Town of Allegany Zoning Ordinance II, to establish a new zoning district, the Wind Energy (WE) Overlay Zone. The amendment provides that the Town Board must establish a Wind Energy Overlay Zone encompassing the site of any commercial wind energy facility, prior to the construction, reconstruction, modification or operation of a Commercial Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The project is located throughout the Town of Allegany, New York.

Cattaraugus County - The New York State Deparment of Environmental Conservation (NYS DEC), as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Armstrong Portville Gravel Pit will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the mining of sand and gravel and material processing with a pipe screener, on 3.93 acres out of a 14.25 acre parcel of land. Mining will occur below the groundwater table, resulting in a 1.8 acre lake. The estimated life of the mine is 2 to 3 years, and the reclamation objective is for a private, family recreational area with a lake. The project is located on the east side of Barbertown Road, on the north side of East Carroll Road, and west of Oswayo Creek, in the Town of Portville, New York.

Cattaraugus County - The Town of Machias, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Wind Ordinance will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves an ordinance to establish process and requirements to process an application to develop wind energy conversion systems within the Town of Machias. The project is located throughout the Town of Machais, New York.

Niagara County - The Niagara County Department of Public Works, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Beebe Road Rehabilitation and Related Work will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the rehabilitation and shoulder reconstruction along Beebe Road (County Route 111) for approximately 12,000 feet and related roadway and guide rail construction. The project will also involve the updating of the existing drainage system features along the road. The project is located on Beebe Road, from North of Shadigee Road to Wilson-Burt Road in the Town of Wilson, New York.
