Project Description:

The applicant proposes to install a new stormwater treatment system to be connected to an existing pipeline. The existing pipe, wing walls, and two trees are proposed to be removed, and a new concrete access pad, steps and wing walls are proposed to be constructed. A 20' x 15' area of rip rap is proposed to be installed in the drainage channel, and the surrounding area is proposed to be regraded and replanted with grass, trees and shrubs. The purpose of the project is the reduce the amount of sediment and floatables entering the local waterways, and thus to improve the water quality of nearby Milburn Creek. The proposed project is located west of the intersection of Lena and North Brookside Avenues in the Village of Freeport, Nassau County, NCTM# 54-B-752A.

The Department has made a tentative determination to approve Air State Facility Permits for Altaire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The facility manufactures and packages liquid and semi-solid pharmaceutical and homeopathic products. No chemical synthesis takes place at the facility:as such, 6NYCRR Part 233 does not apply. Sulfur dioxide emissions at the facility are capped at 90 tons per year based on fuel oil usage. Altaire Pharmaceuticals is registered with the Federal Food and Drug Administration.
