Project Description:

The applicant proposes to remove an existing 12' x 12' bridge and to replace it with a new 29' x 12' steel bridge with precast concrete abutments. The bridge length is proposed to be increased to accomodate the stream bank configuration, current use, and to upgrade the roadway to allow fire truck passage. The proposed project is located at the north end of Belmont Lake in Belmont Lake State Park, 625 Belmont Avenue, West Babylon in Suffolk County, SCTM# 100-108-01-001.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes a temporary groundwater dewatering system for the installation of new nitrogen removal wastewater treatment tanks at the existing Patchogue Wastwater Treatment Facility. The temporary system will discharge a maximum of 5.34 million gallons per day through a 14 inch header pipe into the Patchogue River. Steps will be taken to minimize the impact of the discharge on shoreline vegetation, as well as to minimize scour and silt.
