Project Description:

The Town of Geneseo proposes to create Geneseo Water District #5 and to take for use therein a supply of water up to 12,000 gallon per day from the Village of Geneseo's Conesus Lake source. This project includes the installation of 1100 lineal feet of 8" and 800 lineal feet of 4" water main and appurtenances to serve fifteen (15) dwelling units. The project is available for review and comment at NYSDEC Region 8.

A Structural-Archaeological Assessment Form has been completed. The proposed activity will not impact on registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures.

Project Description:

The applicant proposes to stabilize a 429-foot section of an unnamed tributary to Black Creek, a Class C stream, that runs parallel to Stearns Road near the intersection of Griffin Road in the Town of Riga, by re-sloping and re-alignment. Rock riprap will be used to stabilize both sides of the creek for a total of approximately 165 cubic yards of fill, which requires a 401 Water Quailty Certification.

In the northernmost 100-foot stretch, the existing toe of the west bank will be pulled back approximately 2 feet and the bank resloped 2:1, ultimately widening the stream bottom. In the southern stretch of creek which is approximately 329 feet long, the stream bottom will be widened from 8 feet to 10 feet and the bank resloped and graded 2:1. A vegetative buffer will be planted to the west of the creek.
