Project Description:

The proposed project involves construction of a gravel driveway, approximately 105 feet long by 15 feet wide, in the adjacent area of a regulated freshwater wetland to access an upland site for construction of a new, single family dwelling. The project is located on the south side of Wallace Hill Road, approximately 2,700 feet east of Bell Road on a six acre parcel owned by Gerald Menard.

State Historic Preservation Act (SHPA) Determination:

Cultural resource lists and map have been checked. No registered, eligible or inventoried archaeological sites or historic structures were identified at the project location. No further review in accordance with SHPA is required.

Coastal Management:

This project is not located in a Coastal Management area and is not subject to the Waterfront Revitalization and Coastal Resources Act.

Opportunity for Public Comment:

Project Description:

The applicant has proposed to modify and renew the Mined Land Reclamation permit for their Route 32 Bank's to include an increase of 3.5+/- acres to the existing 9-acre Life of Mine (LOM), for a total of a 12.5-acre LOM. The project site is situated on a contiguous 91.9-acre parcel located on the north side of Route 32, just east of Brownville Rd. The mine will continue to operate as a traditional surface extraction of sand by means of mechanical excavating. No other changes to any other aspect of the mine are proposed.
